Butterflies are Free

Here is a card done from the August Card & Craft Classes

This explosion card is EASY but has the WOW factor

Here are the printed directions:

Tonight’s focus is on C1299 Butterfly Kiss.
Our card is a fun fold one.
BT 4 x 12
CS 1 ½ x 2 (to stamp Butterfly on)
Colored CS 1 ¾ x ¾, 1 ½ x ¾
Neutral CS 1 ½ x ½, 1 ¼ x ½
Optional Backing Boards: 4 ½ x 2 ¼ (2)
Optional “Ribbon” ¼ x 4 ½ cut in half.

Assembly instructions:
Mark at 6” on BACK side top and bottom.
Fold left side down to center line creating ½ an arrow. Repeat on the other side. Now you have a point (be sure these creases are well folded).
Open.
Turn paper upside down and repeat the procedure. Now you have an X on each side of center which forms a square on end.
Fold the two ends in to the center of he X on the FRONT side. Score WELL. (Both Sides)
Leave ends folded in…and fold back to the very center of the points in the square. This leaves you and X on each side with a line running through the middle of the X.

Your Folds are finished. Stamp your Butterfly and attach with 3D Foam Squares under each wing so it curves down in the center. Stamp Think on the 1 ½ neutral and Of You on the 1 ½ neutral. Mount on Colored CS and your stand UP card is completed. The message goes on the BACK.

ENJOY

Many Thanks Card Workshop

Gold Embossing powder, Garden Green, Cranberry , Chocolate, Goldrush, hemp, punches and more make this workshop a fun project just in time for the autumn season. This workshop was created for me by my downline, Jan Witter. Thank you SO much Jan. Email me for the dates and time of the classes or visit http://legacylady.myctmh.com

It's been a long time!

It hardly seems like a month...until I think of the Bathroom remodel the first 10 days of the month. The 2nd bath will get remodeled when I forget how much fun this bath remodel was.

The effect is wonderful! Watch for photos this weekend. The vanity actually "grew" from the time we ordered it (31") to 36"! It all came together better than we expected although some of it was VERY close...you can get just 1 sheet of paper between the vanity and the mirror and you
you need to carefully turn on the water faucet the style needs more distance from the backsplash than we got. However, I love it!...and it holds more than the old one did!

Like I said, however, when I forget how much fun this one was.

Look Up Sunday June 19th Mini Album Post

Of course, if the date doesn't work your you I would be happy to do a another workshop on it for you and your friends and you could earn hostess rewards.

Keeping cool in Summer and camera trick!

We are forecast for triple digits today and tomorrow This is the time of year when I LIKE looking at our snow photos and scrapbooking them. Some how they make me feel cooler. Just call me crazy!

HINT: if your camera doesn't have a snow setting try moving the F-stop (or exposure adjustment) UP one notch to fool the camera into thinking it is brighter than it actually is thus shortening the exposure time.

It "tickled me Pink" to make this card with the May Special Papers! Of course I added our spring buttons, Sweetleaf ribbon and the Dimensional elements Framed Fun finish off this card.

These two layouts feature Paper Garden papers with Silhouette Papers for contrast. Enjoy the Big Pinks flowers for that summery look.
I used level 1 layouts and jazzed them up!

Edging Paper

Are there some times you do NOT want white edges on your paper? There is a simple solution.
Own markers that match your papers (they can be bought individually or in sets and are listed with the inks) Then hold the marker in you hand like a pen turned up towards your face, set the paper on a "table" made of your unused fingers of that hand and set the marker on the paper down at the base of the marker then just pull the marker towards you and edges are G O N E with very little ink on the top side of your paper!!!

June Card Class Pop Up Card

This card folds flat to mail and is so much fun whether it is a children's birthday card, Father's Day Card or party invitation.
Post back to me if you want to learn how to make it!

Here is a 5 x 7 mini album my scrapbooking classes are doing the first week in August. It is one of those fast slice and dice..then add your own embellishments class.

The sentiments come from a Close to My Heart stamp set called Picture Perfect D1363. You can get more details by going to my site: http://legacylady.myctmh.com for more details plus dates and times. Look at the Calendar for August

Can't find the right color Brads?

If you are in a hurry, face budget constraints and what brads in every color use your 1/4" punch and the paper color you want. Adhere the dot to your card or layout then add Liquid Glass over the top of the dot (small amounts and several applications will give a high rounded brad...and no bulk! With the post office charging more for "lumpy envelopes" this is a great cost saving idea.

Welcome to the Paper & Ink Studio

This is a 12 x 12 Scrapbook Paper file folder from which we made a folded 8 page 6 x 6 mini album.
It features Close to My Heart's MoonDoggie paper.
